This class will examine the methods, procedures and Investigations of Cold Cases and discuss the importance of the Crime Scene, witness and subject interviews, Media pros and cons and advances in technology/DNA and some Keys to solving colds cases. This class will also address personal issues regarding the reviews of a prior investigators work with some examples.
The instructor is Ray Byers, retired Special Agent FBI,former FBI SWAT/Sniper, Certified APOSTC instructor/Police Training and founder/coordinator of the Middle District of Alabama Violent Crimes Task Force. Ray is former Director of Security of Caddell Construction Co and current Direct of Security at Vaughn Forest Church in Montgomery. Ray is a contract Investigator for OPM and LE Consultant/Lecturer of the Alabama Dept. of Corrections Prisoner Re-entry Program. Ray is the CEO of Security Management Consultants and is an adjunct professor of criminal justice at AUM. Ray obtained a MS degree from Southern Illinois University in 176.

This training is funded by an ADECA Law Enforcement Planning subgrant #15-DJ-ST-008 awarded to AUM and its Alabama Crime Prevention Clearinghouse. This APOST Certified (6 hour) training seminar will begin at 9:00 a.m. (registration at 8:30), and will end at 4:00 p.m. This seminar is open to law enforcement officers only and there is no cost to attend.
